Today is Batik Day. UNESCO was announce its recognition of batik as a unique hallmark of Indonesian heritage at a meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This recognition was declared Oct 2nd 2009. Since that day, every Oct 2nd we celebrate as Batik Day.
Batik isn't only for fabric. Today, specially I bring-out batik motive on lampwork bead, made by creative people from Jombang - East Java.
